7 Excellent Online Fitness Challenges
One of the biggest obstacles to losing weight and getting fit is staying motivated. But, did you know that there are fitness and weight loss challenges at your fingertips that can provide instruction and motivation right online? If you’ve never taken a look at them, it’s time to check out some of the online challenges that are easy to join. An online challenge just might be the motivation you need to meet your fitness goals. 1. President’s Challenge – The President’s Challenge is a national program designed to help America get fit. You sign onto the challenge based on your age category and receive coaching and inspiration. This programs works well regardless of your fitness level.
2. 100 Pushups – This is a six week training program designed to make you strong enough to do 100 consecutive pushups by the end of the program. It focuses on strength and endurance. This is probably not the best challenge for the true couch potato. It would probably be wise to try one of the other challenges first and then make this one your second fitness challenge.
3. About.com – This is a generic challenge you do for 30 days. Sign up whenever you want, and you’ll receive motivating newsletters for 30 days. You’ll receive step by step instructions on how to reach your goals.
4. Funschool - Kaboose – A great fitness challenge for kids. The challenges include simple and fun things like hopping on one foot! The computer times you and encourages you to come back every day for more exercise. A great quick exercise break for the home school bunch.
5. Global Health and Fitness – this is a true contest running through June of 2010. You challenge your self for a period of 12 weeks, following the coaching and guidelines found on the site. You even submit “before pictures” at the beginning, and “after pictures” at the end of your 12 weeks. There are real prizes for the winners and entering is free. This is a great challenge for people who are motivated by the idea of winning.
6. 50 Million Pound Challenge – The winner of this challenge goes home with $10,000 in cash in addition to a healthier body. The challenge is for those who need to lose weight, and has been highly advertised on television. The website includes plenty of online motivation and tracking resources. Joining the site and the challenge is free.
7. Weightloss Wars – Another challenge designed for those who need to lose weight, this is a great challenge in the fitness arena, too. You can start a challenge among your own friends and family or join a public competition. This site is free and you set up your challenge anyway you like. Why not find a group of friends, join together and chip in for a monetary prize for the winner? This site gives you all the tools you need for a great challenge.
